Clanging pipes
QUESTION: I just had a new heating system installed, Buderus boiler w/Carlin burner. Before installation I had clanging pipes that I thought may have been air in the system. New system clangs even more than before. Any suggestions as to the cause?
-- Don MacNeill from Wakefield, MA
ANSWER:
The positive pressure on the system may not be correct. If this is the case, it must be adjusted or the pump needs to be moved to the supply side of the boiler to possibly eliminate the problem. I recommend contacting a boiler installer, because heating systems are very intricate today.
