ACCENT LIGHTING
QUESTION: I AM BUILDING A NEW HOME. I PLAN TO HANG AN 8 FOOT QUILT UP IN THE CATHEDRAL CEILING. WHERE DO I NEED TO PUT ACCENT LIGHTS TO ACCENT THE WALL THAT THE QUILT IS ON. I WANT TO MOUNT THEM IN THE CEILING, BUT I'M NOT SURE WHAT TYPE OF LIGHT I NEED TO USE AND WHERE TO PLACE THEM TO MAKE THE QUILT REALLY POP.

ANSWER:
I suggest using as close to natural light as possible to showcase the colours of the quilt and not make them look muddy, especially at that height. You can mount an adjustable track system to hold compact fluorescents. Halogens give off the purest light, but can get very hot, and I would be concerned about fading the material.
