re-siding

We are re-siding our home and will be adding rigid insulation and vinyl siding. We will then have the windows and doors replaced. We are not sure what the best method is - insulate over the old siding or not....and whether or not using strapping is necessary.....any advice? Read our expert's answer »

Mold on roof sheathing

To my horror, when selling my home, an inspector found in my attic black mold on 3/4 of the roof sheathing. the roof was re-shingled 4 years ago. The inspector said the ventilation seems fine now, and probably it was from before. Should I get the sheathing treated. Do I have to wipe it down first or wash it? He said to put a sealer on it. Should I re-stucco or use another type of siding

I just bought an older home that has the old-fashioned, tiny rock-type stucco. The front exterior has developed some cracks, and I was thinking whether I should re-stucco the front or use another medium, like bricks or even fake stones. The other three stuccoed sides of the house looks OK, and I was just thinking of painting the other three sides to save money.
